Remediation Verification Reports

What does a remediation method statement consist of?

When a Phase II Ground Investigation or Contaminated Land Assessment identifies a risk to future end users of a site, remediation works to reduce the risk will be required. Typically, a Remediation Method Statement will be requested by the Local Planning Authority in order to summarise what remediation techniques will be utilised to protect end users of a site.

Following this, validation works will be required to demonstrate to the Local Authority that the proposed methods in the Remediation Method Statement have been implemented sufficiently. The validation works are then reported to the Local Authority for planning condition sign off. Typical examples of validation works include; ground gas membrane inspections, garden capping inspections and hotspot removal and validation.
